Making an entire column currency or percent.

1.  Open Excel.  If you are using Excel 2013, hit either the Escape or Enter key one time to move into a blank spread sheet.
2.  Type your name in cell a1.
3.  Tap enter.
4.  Press control semi-colon to insert the date in cell a2.
5.  Tap enter.
6.  Press control shift semi-coolon to insert the time in cell a3.
7.  Tap enter two times to go to cell a5.
8.  Press and hold down the control and shift keys and tap the down arrow key.  The entire column, from cell a5 to the bottom is now highlighted.
9.  Release all keys.
10.  Press control shift 4 to turn the highlighted cells into currency.
11.  Tap down arrow one time.
12.  Press control g.
13.  Type b5.
14.  Tap enter.
15.  Press and hold down the control and shift keys and tap the down arrow key.
16.  Press control shift and the number 5.  The column from cell b5 to the bottom is now formatted for percents.
17.  Tap the down arrow key one time.
18.  Press control g.
19.  Type a5.
20.  Tap enter.
21.  Type the number 2.60.
22.  Tap enter.
23.  Type the number 3.64.
24.  Tap enter.
25.  Type the number 6.34.
26.  Tap enter.
27.  Press control g.
28.  Type b5.
29.  Tap enter.
30.  Type 40.
31.  Tap enter.
32.  Type 50.
33.  Tap enter.
34.  Type 100.
35.  Tap enter.
36.  Press control g.
37.  Type a5.
38.  Tap enter.
39.  Down arrow and you will hear the numbers you typed now in currency format.
40.  Press control g.
41.  Type b5.
42.  Down arrow and you will hear the number you typed in percent format.
43.  Press control home to go to cell a1.
44.  Press control s.
45.  Type Excel Lesson Five.
46.  Tap enter.
47.  Print two copies of this file and give one to the teacher, and keep one for yourself.

Assignment:  Open Excel.  Put your name in cell e1, the date under that, and the time under that.  Press control g, type a5, and make the column currency.  Tap down arrow one time.  Press control g.  Type b5.  Make this column percents.  Go to cell a5, type a number, tap enter, type another number, tap enter, and so on.  You want to have ten numbers in this column when you are finished.  Go to cell b 5, type a number, tap enter, type a number, tap enter, and so on. You want to have a list of ten numbers when you are finished.  Go to cell a5, and down arrow to hear if the numbers you typed are in currency format.  Go to cell b5 and tap down arrow to see if your numbers are in currency format.  Save the file as Excel assignment Five, and print two copies.  Given one copy to the teacher, and keep one copy for yourself.
