Word Processor Navigation Step-by-Step Lesson

1.  Open your word processor.
2.  Type "Today is sunny." (without the quotes)
3.  Hit the Enter Key one time.
4.  Type "It is warm outside today." (without the quotes)
5.  Press and hold down the Control key and tap the Home key to move to the top of the document.
6.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the right arrow key several times to move forware through "Today is sunny."
7.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the left arrow key to move backware through "Today is sunny."
8.  Hit the down arrow key one time to move to the next sentence "It is warm outside today."
9.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the right arrow key again-and-again to move forward through the sentence "It is warm outside today."
10.  Press and hold down the Control key had hit the left arrow key again-and-again to move backward through the sentence "It is warm outside today."
11.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the Home key to move to the top of the document.
12.  Hit the right arrow key again-and-again to move through the sentence "Today is summy," letter-by-letter, going forward.
13.  Hit the left arrow key again-and-again to move through the sentence "Today is sunny," letter-by-letter, going backward.
14.  Hit the Home key to move to the beginning of the line.
15.  Hit the End key to move to the end of the line.
16.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the End key to move to the bottom of the document.
17.  Press and hold down the Control key and hit the Home key to move to the top of the document.
18.  Create your own sentences, and then repeat steps 5 through 17 above to practice.
19.  Press and hold down the Alt key and hit the F4 key.  You will be asked if you want to save the document.  Right arrow to a button which says something like "Don't Save" and hit Enter.  The word processor will be closed without saving the file.

Note:  The navigation keys above also work on the internet, in email, and other programs where text is present.
